Dell Streak 7 and 10 tablets debut at CES

Dell has chosen CES as the venue to give its iPad-rivalling 10-inch tablet its first public airing, following on from months of speculation and leaked information

Taking to the stage, Dell’s Michael Tatelman first showed the gathered masses the company’s upcoming 7-inch number, the Dell Streak 7. The device, which sports a full HD screen protected by the Streak’s same Gorilla Glass, is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 2 dual-core ARM processor and aimed at the student or ‘Generation Y’ market.

It’ll run Android 2.2 with the Streak’s Stage UI, but Dell is promising the jump to 3.0 shortly after its US launch.

After that, Dell took out its 10-incher, the Dell Streak 10, for a blink-and-miss-it demo -announcing that it’ll be aimed ad the professional market and be fully ready to meet the needs of big companies at both the front and back end. Both tablets will be landing in the US later this year, with UK releases expected not long after
