FIFA 12 will be a 'game for the world'

A Sports at E3 wouldn't be complete without a FIFA update, and this year was no exception.

EA Sports has showcased its latest FIFA 12 at the E3 conference in LA, showing off new online features and gameplay technologies.
Starting with gameplay the new incarnation will have three new features in place; Tactical Defending, Precision Dribbling and the Player Impact Engine. The Tactical Defending feature requires the player to put more effort into completing a succesful and stylish tackle with timing and aiming being both key to success. Precision Dribbling follows a similar route, enabling the player a more accurate method of passing and running with the ball, while the Player Impact Engine is a physics engine which makes every players movement more realistic.

The second big announcement was the EA Football Club, an online service which is cross-platform and adds a completely new social and competative dimension to FIFA online. By choosing a team you can then watch your team progress through challenges and against your friends online, while showing you stats of how well you're doing.

According to EA Sports this is just the iceberg, with more features to be announced as the months go by. This is certainly the first step by a games publisher to create a service which is compatible between devices. Either way to see a full round-up of the new features, check out the video below.
